Just thought I'd use some of our main page space to get the word out for Earth Hour 2009. Seems like a good idea, if nothing more than getting people to think about conserving energy.

Don't most of us have their lights off for at least half the day?

Yes, it's not about saving energy as much as it is about awareness of how much we rely on energy/electricity. This will get people to start thinking about ways to reduce their consumption of that energy.

I was already doing things to save energy, but after hearing about Earth Hour, it reminded me that I could do a lot more. It's important (at least for people like me) to have things put into perspective once in a while as a reminder to keep trying to do what I can to help the Earth/Environment.
